Simon has worked in Thailand for the past 21 years and is currently the Country Manager of ManpowerGroup, the world's leading HR solution provider with more than 4,100 offices in 82 countries.

He was responsible for the start up of Manpower Thailand in 1998 and currently the business has over 13,000 associates supported by over 220 permanent staffs in 10 locations across Thailand.

BCCT activities during 2013:

If re-elected, Simon will continue his involvement in the committees, contribute to achieve the BCCT short and long range goals and objectives and ensure that BCCT members are regularly advised on developments related to Employment, Labor and Immigration issues that can affect their interests.

A resident of Thailand since 1981, I co-founded Colliers Thailand, an international property consultancy and brokerage, in 2007 and am Executive Chairman. The Bangkok-based firm has become a leading player in the market with over 200 staff and branches in Pattaya and Hua Hin. I have held a number of professional roles in the Thai and international property market, including past chairman of RICS Thailand and member of RICS Asia Pacific. Currently I serve as member of the UK-based International Valuation Standards Board (the global standard-setter for business and property valuation) and of the Thai SEC sub-committee on property fund/REIT regulation.

As Chairman of the BCCT Board for the last two years, we have focused on upgrading events and information; promoting the Chamber's advocacy role both independently and in collaboration other bodies (principally EABC and the Board of Trade); and ensuring sustainable financial health for BCCT. The Board believes it has made significant progress in all three areas. In addition, over the last year the Chamber has taken on its new expanded role (and office space) with the UK Chambers Initiative and development of the Bangkok Business Centre.

I am standing for another year on the Board although work commitments mean that I will not be standing for Chairman. However, I hope to contribute by supporting the continuation of ongoing projects and developing some new initiatives, such as the Chamber's alumni placement strategy.

My involvement over the last year has included hosting, presenting at or attending around 25 BCCT events and over 40 BCCT meetings, including 11 Board meetings, and representing BCCT at around 100 external meetings and events, including two delegations to the UK and one to Laos on behalf of the Chamber, Board of Trade meetings and meetings with Thai and UK government ministers and officials. Prior to chairing BCCT, I served as Vice-Chairman in 2011 and ran the Property & Infrastructure Group for several years.

Members are the heartbeat of the BCCT and their needs and expectations lie at the heart of the process of electing Board members. Although often elected from larger companies the quality of the Board comes from the individuals who serve the BCCT. It is, in my view, important to keep a balance between the larger companies and the majority of BCCT companies that are in the Micro or SME community.

I have been a member of the Board of BCCT for 4 years now. During that time I have attended the vast majority of BCCT events and Board meetings as well as representing the BCCT from time to time at other events. I have lived in Thailand since 2003 and came here to run a World Bank Education project working for Mott McDonald. Previously, I was a Head teacher in the UK for 20 years and became the President of the National Association of Headteachers in 1999. I am now the Chairman of Anglo Thai Legal. In 2011 and during the last year I was one of the Vice Chairmen of BCCT.

I am currently Chairman of the Membership Group, the Education Group and the SME Group and also a member of the Legal Group, the ICT Group and the Comms Group

I firmly believe that the BCCT is a membership organisation, existing primarily for the benefit of its members. The BCCT Membership group has attempted, over the last years, to examine in some detail, the wishes of the members and to bring these to the attention of the Board. In April 2012 and November 2013 we held Membership feedback meetings and many of the key outputs from these sessions have already been actioned. This process will be ongoing through 2014. If re-elected, I will strive to continue this process in whatever way that I can.

Onyx Hospitality Group is privately owned by the family behind the Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited, one of Thailand's leading companies with a wide range of commercial interests including construction and trading. David has been in Thailand for over 10 years, previously as General Manager of the Amari Orchid Pattaya before one year ago taking up the role of VP Operational Development for Onyx where he amongst other duties oversees the pre-opening process for the companies new properties. Previously, David had worked in the Middle East with the Inter-Continental Group in a variety of countries and roles.

With over 20 years' experience as an expatriate, David has developed an understanding and knowledge for the importance of dealing with both expatriates and local business leaders alike. David is committed to developing this further and to helping drive the requirements of the BCCT and its members in Thailand.

While being in the tourism sector and a regular attendee of such trade shows as World Travel Market in the UK, David is promoting Thailand to travel agents or corporate business in a bid to further enhance the destination. If re-elected to the board, amongst other things, David would very much like to see the now re-established Tourism committee becoming a major player within the BCCT, thus ensuring the needs of this ever-growing sector are being correctly met.

David, having been elected to the board in 2012 has previously headed the BCCT Eastern Seaboard Group (ran this also in 2013 following the departure of the chair-person) and in 2013 re-established the Travel and Tourism committee, running various events throughout the year. David was a regular attendee at networking evenings, events and often supports other Chambers in Bangkok.

Arcadia is an international professional services firm headquartered in Bangkok, providing engineering, design, procurement, project and construction management services for all aspects of the built environment. As executive director of strategy, I am responsible for the operations, strategic plans and providing the vision and dynamic leadership to the company as a whole and to ensure a commercial culture is developed and maintained to complement the technical activities.

Prior to co-founding Arcadia, I worked for Halcrow Group Ltd for 25 years in a variety of technical and management roles in Asia, North America and Europe. I moved to Thailand 14 years ago to assume the position of Regional Director Thailand and was a member of the Asia regional management team.

I maintain an active role as Chairman of the BCCT Property and Infrastructure Group. I have been a key-note and panel speaker at BCCT events and other international conferences and seminars.

My involvement over the last two years has been to attend 26 BCCT events, including 21 Board meetings and meetings with Thai and UK government ministers and officials.

If re-elected I will continue my active participation in BCCT events, meetings, sponsorship and contributing to the agenda and the promotion of the Chamber and its members. I am passionate and committed to the BCCT and business in Thailand and will provide the leadership for the development of British interests in Thailand.

Formerly with market leading real estate firms Colliers International and Savills, Mark is currently a partner of one of Pattaya’s longest established independent real estate brokerage firms Pattaya Realty Co.,Ltd. Specialising primarily in Commercial Real Estate he has gained much experience in this field over the years and is highly regarded within his large network of contacts on the Eastern Seaboard. Mark has also been a regional judge of the highly coveted Thailand Property Awards.

Since 2014 Mark has held the position of Chairman of the BCCT Eastern Seaboard Group and was elected as a Board Director of BCCT since January 2016. Mark regularly attends Chamber events on the ESB and also functions in Bangkok whenever his schedule allows. Mark also prepares a popular monthly business update relating to all aspects of business and investment on the Eastern Seaboard.

Originally from Tenby in Wales, Mark has lived in Pattaya with his family since 2004, where he also owns a serviced apartment business.

Billy Chomsakorn also known as Chaiyavut Chomsakorn has joined British Airways in April 2014 as a Country Commercial Manager Thailand.

Born in 1970, Billy grew up in Bangkok, Thailand. Billy has finished his secondary school in Bangkok, Thailand in 1987 then he continued his high school study in Melbourne, Australia where he has also graduated from La Trobe University in 1994. In 1998 Billy has continued his study in Tourism Management at Victoria University of Technology.

Billy began his career in the travel industry in 1994 while he was in his final year of the university and was in the same industry until 2000. During that time Billy has undertaken all the duties required and held various positions in the travel industry in Melbourne, Australia.

As Billy has always been interested in the Marketing field, in 1997 he has also explored part time event marketing career at the Melbourne Entertainment Complex, Crown Casino as well as his full time job.

After 16 years away from home, he has moved back to Thailand in December, 2000 to joined Emirates Airline as Sales Executive until 2004 then started his new career with Etihad Airways in August 2004 as Sales & Marketing Manager for Thailand and Mekong Region until March 2014 before he has a great opportunity to joined British Airways where he is enjoying this new and exciting challenge.

GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), one the world leading pharmaceutical, biologics, vaccines and consumer healthcare company. GSK is a well-respected leader of the Thai pharmaceutical industry, has been operating in Thailand since 1964, and actively involved as a key contributor to public and non-profit organizations. Our initiative support GSK Global policy’s Access to Medicine framework, aiming to increase access to quality, innovative medicines and vaccines for all people, including those at the lower end of the economic spectrum.

Prior to joining GSK, Boyd has experiences cover fast moving consumer goods, consumer healthcare, and pharmaceuticals. He held a variety of commercial roles and was based in the US, China before moving back to Thailand.

He is currently the Board of Director of the British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT), and the President of the Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers Association (PReMA). He is the member of the Institute of Directors of Thailand.

John has a vast experience in retail industry, having served various top management level positions within Tesco Group around the world. His career at Tesco began in 1982. Over the 30-year period, John has helped driving growth across the business. Prior to his appointment as CEO of Tesco Lotus in 2012, John was CEO of Tesco in Slovakia for two years, COO of Tesco in Poland for two years, and CEO of Tesco in Japan for three years. His previous role as Express Store Operations Director at Tesco UK saw him lead the business through rapid growth. At Tesco Lotus, John has led his team of more than 60,000 people in Thailand to grow the business based on a customer-centric approach. Tesco Lotus now serves more than 15 million customers every week from a network of over 1,800 stores across the nation as well as online grocery shopping channel and online marketplace platforms.

As CEO of the leading retailer in Thailand, John has set a direction for the business to actively contribute to the Thai economy, society and environmental protection. His latest support to the Thai economy includes 22 Pracha Rath projects which are joint initiatives between Tesco Lotus and government agencies to help Thai farmers and SMEs grow sustainable income.

I have lived and worked in Thailand for 23 years. I am a director of Bangkok International Associates, an independent law firm. I specialise in corporate and commercial law, including many areas of concern to BCCT members: corporate set-up, joint ventures, employment, property, taxation, company takeovers, and banking.

I served BCCT members as a director during 2007-2011, and from October 2012 to date. My time as a board director brings me into regular contact with BCCT members, many of which are SMEs. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping to resolve legal issues that they experience particularly.

More particularly, I represented BCCT members’ interests during 2016 as follows:

Kate studied in St Andrews in Scotland, where she completed her Masters in Politics and Philosophy in 2012. She has been working in digital and living in the Asia Pacific region since then.

Kate joined Adelphi Digital 3 years ago, with responsibility to grow revenue by delivering digital business development projects and generating new partnerships across Australia, Singapore and Thailand. Her digital expertise and forward-thinking ingenuity is instrumental in the on-going growth of Adelphi Digital's digital presence and strategic partnerships in Bangkok.

Kate is also responsible for founding and running the British Chamber of Commerce Thailand (BCCT) Young Professionals Group, which aims to provide support and career development for young professionals living and working in Thailand.

Kate's interest in the Chamber focuses around engaging with SMEs, start-ups and entrepreneurs. Her passion will inspire a wider audience to partake and participate in events organised by the BCCT, as well as widening their perception of the Chambers support capabilities and fully understanding and utilising the resources it provides to businesses.

Carl Sellick is the Regional Managing Director and has been operating in Thailand for almost 3 years with specific responsibility for the APAC region for all commercial and operational sites including businesses in China and Malaysia. In addition Carl is responsible for sales of Lucy Electric products and services from all sites globally. Carl has been with Lucy Electric for over 18 years being based in a number of locations including the UK, Dubai and Malaysia where he set up commercial operations before relocating to Thailand in 2014. Carl has a been involved in the electricity supply industry for over 30 years in senior positions working for French and German multi-nationals before joining Lucy Electric.

During his tenure on the Board Carl has initiated several projects including the development of a Manufacturing Group which by definition tries to bring added Chamber focus in this important area as well as being a member of the Steering Group of the Overseas Business Network Initiative (OBNI). Carl has close ties with several Thai Government bodies, in particular with the Thai Board of Investment (TBOI) and the Customs Department.

HSBC was established as the first bank in Thailand in 1888. Headquartered in London, HSBC Group is one of the largest financial services organisations in the world with an international network located in 80 countries and territories. HSBC Thailand offers a comprehensive range of financial services to corporate customers.

Kelvin Tan was appointed Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Thailand in July 2015. He joined HSBC in 2009 and has served in positions in Singapore. His banking career spans over two decades; with a focus on Corporates and MNCs across industries in Singapore and Asia Pacific.

Kelvin holds an MBA from Nanyang Technological University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the National University of Singapore.

He enjoyed meeting with BCCT executives (Simon Landy, John Christie & Andrew McBean). Should Kelvin be elected to the BCCT board, he will provide his insight on the financial services industry to the board and members.

HSBC has been an annual sponsor of BCCT since 2007 and will do so again in 2015. In addition, HSBC sponsored key BCCT events throughout 2014 - such as the luncheon and dinner talk by the Governor of the Bank of Thailand, the business leader dinner, the Networking event, the BCCT Christmas luncheon - and intends to continue doing so in 2017.

HSBC was one of the first companies to join the BCCT on its establishment in 1946.

Summer started his career at the British Council in 2004. Since then he has worked in a wide variety of roles including Internationalising Higher Education, International Education Marketing and Business Transformation. Summer has worked in a number of British Council offices worldwide, including London where the British Council has its Headquarters, helping deliver the Global Change Programme. Prior to joining the British Council, Summer spent a year promoting inward and outward investment between Holland and China.

Before taking up his role as Deputy Country Director Thailand in May 2016, Summer spent three years in Jakarta as the Director of Operations for British Council Indonesia. He currently manages five teams in Thailand that focus on the overall country operation, Education and Society, internal and external communication, and business development, supporting the strengthening of the cultural relationship between Thailand and the UK. In addition, Summer leads the work on mainstreaming Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in all British Council projects and programmes in the East Asia region and the British Council global network with a goal to contribute to a more inclusive society.

Globally the British Council has enjoyed a close working relationship with the British Chamber of Commerce in countries where both have a presence. The British Council’s main objectives in Thailand are aligned to support the country’s economic growth and social development. Should Summer be elected to the BCCT board, he will serve the needs and promote the development of British business in Thailand in the Education, English language teaching, and Arts sectors, in particular through providing insights from an Educational and Cultural perspective to the board and members, enhancing the UK brand and placing a focus on the next generation which will bring long-lasting impact to BCCT’s footprint in Thailand.
